San Clemente, California
Most of the surfing public in Southern California dreams about being able to surf for a few hours with only 4 guys out during a pulsing south swell at Lower Trestles. Dusty Payne fulfilled every SoCal surfers dreams by surfing just about as many heats as possible during the Nike6.0 Lowers Pro last week at Trestles. Dusty pulled some hard core double duty by competeing in the main event as well as the Oakley Pro Junior. Dusty was ripping all week and made the finlas of the Pro Junior and the semis of the main event.
Payne's fast, loose style was the talk of the event. The top two surfers in the Pro Junior qualify for the Global Challenge in Bali and by the time his final rolled around, Payne was out of steam after surfing 6 heats during the day and finishing fourth. Oakley rewarded Payne's iron-man effort by granting him one of four wildcards to the Bali event.
Huge congrats go out to Dusty!
